14th European CubeSat Symposium 2025

The von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics is glad to have organized the European CubeSat Symposium over the past years.

We thank all participants for their enthusiasm in sharing their research, developments, and achievements. It was a privilege to host you!

Now comes the time to hand over the Symposium to a new organizer, who will keep gathering the amazing CubeSat community and bring it to new orbits!

 

From 2025, the European CubeSat Symposium will be organized by the University of Glasgow (College of Science and Engineering).

Save the date: December 3rd-5th 2025, Glasgow (Scotland).

The ECS Student Competition provides students with the opportunity to share their work on cubesat design and missions. Awards are given to competition finalists.

The presentations may be on relevant study and research related to:

  • Cubesats, systems and subsystems
  • Mission concepts
  • Related infrastructure : launchers and deployers, ground stations, etc.

 

Eligibility

Preference will be given to full-time graduate or undergraduate students in a scientific or technical discipline at a University or Technical College.

Are not eligible

  • Students enrolled in a PhD degree program
  • Students graduating prior to April 2024

The competition is open for both individuals and teams. The whole team can participate to the presentation.

Selection process

Six abstracts will be selected by the scientific comity to be presented during the 13th ECS. The presentation will be scored by a panel of judges drawn from academia, industry and agency.

Criteria

The scoring criteria used by the panel includes Technical and Scientific content and relevance, as well as clarity of writing of the abstract (English, figures, etc.)

Abstract guidelines

The paper for the student competition shall follow the same rules of the other papers. See the Abstract Guidelines. During the submission process, select the Topic “Student competition” for the paper to be taken into consideration.

The abstract not selected for the final will be included in a thematic plenary session, so you should not be afraid to participate in the competition !
